 Montana Hunter Jumper Association

ATTENTION:  ALL MHJA MEMBERS—CRISIS TIME!

As this season winds down and the year- end general meeting nears, we must begin plans for the formation of a new board of directors.

It is likely that as many as four, possibly five, members of the present board will not be seeking reelection this fall.  This development creates an extreme need for all active MHJA members to take stock of their own commitment to the organization.  We have all benefited greatly from the existence of MHJA and the diligent efforts of the many board members who have served over the years.

If the organization is to continue to thrive in its present form, new blood must be infused. We do not want to return to the days of only a handful of shows each year, with shaky management, so-so facilities and judges with questionable credentials.

NO MORE YEAR END POTLUCKS IN A CHURCH BASEMENT!

We have amassed a comfortable cushion of funds. We have more shows with rated judges, well designed courses and much improved facilities. All this needs to be protected and preserved, but we can only do that with a strong board of directors.

We strongly urge all MHJA members to think carefully about how important the MHJA shows are to them, then ask themselves if they can make board membership a priority in their lives, and make at least a two- year commitment.

We who have served for several terms feel the need for a break.   With a membership of approximately 200, it should not be necessary for the same handful of people to run the association year after year.  Those members who have benefited the most from the existence   of MHJA should now step forward to take a turn at the wheel.
